Team DME is just days away from “officially” starting their 2016 season. Unofficially, work began just a few short days after the team concluded their 2015 season with two more Pro Street Championships and a list of new records. But, that’s how you win six Pro Street Championships over three years, by continually innovating and never resting on your laurels.
The team will once again have Joey Gladstone piloting the familiar Vance & Hines Pro Street Hayabusa, with jaw-dropping Pro Open performances on ‘Tink-Tink’ also on the schedule. Veteran racer Jason Dunigan will be on board again as an integral part of the DME team as they look to return to the six-second zone in 2016. Last but certainly not least would be Mr. $10K himself, Terrance Angela from the island of Aruba. Terrance has won two out of three $10,000 Battle Royale races in the last three years (conceding the third to teammate Joey).
Leading the team to battle are the familiar faces of the DME brain trust of Dimey Eddinger, Skip Gladstone, and newly crowned 2015 Energycoil Tuner of The Year winner Andy Sawyer. Sawyer won the Dragbike.com inaugural award just a few short weeks back and is looking forward to adding to his resume this season.
The team has already been testing their 2016 combinations, along with the new R&D learned over the short winter. Dunigan and Gladstone were on hand for a private session in February where they both shook off the cobwebs in preparation for the season. DME team leader Dimey Eddinger had this to say, “I know this is hard to believe, but I really think 2016 might be our best year yet. The off season went great and our pre-season testing has gone better than we expected.”
In addition to all the familiar faces normally found at the DME tent, Chris Conley will be debuting his newly built DME Pro Street bike with guidance from the team as well. “We were excited to have the opportunity not only add a new face to Pro Street, but to the sport in general. Chris has an all new bike with our proven combination of race ready parts and we will also provide some trackside assistance to his team,” said Eddinger.
Be sure to check out the team this weekend as they attend the Manufacturer’s Cup season opener at South Georgia Motorsports Park. You can see all their latest and greatest products and meet the riders and members of this championship winning team.
