The DME Racing Hayabusa 2″ Straight Link is designed for aggressively lowered drag racing applications where maximum ground clearance is needed. Read the full description below.
The DME Racing Hayabusa 2″ Straight Link is designed for aggressively lowered drag racing applications where maximum ground clearance is needed.
By changing the rear suspension linkage geometry, this link provides approximately 2 inches of additional ground clearance, helping create clearance for components underneath an extremely low motorcycle.
What is the Purpose of this Link?
When a Hayabusa is lowered significantly for drag racing, ground clearance can become a limiting factor. The DME Racing 2″ Straight Link changes the rear suspension geometry to provide approximately 2″ of additional ground clearance while allowing the motorcycle to maintain an aggressively lowered setup.
Because this link makes a much larger change to the suspension geometry, the rear suspension will be significantly stiffer than with the factory cushion lever or DME Racing 1/2″ Link.
This option is best suited for dedicated drag racing applications where maximum ground clearance is the priority.
FITMENT
- Suzuki Hayabusa Gen1 – when ordered with bearings, the pivot sleeve is not included; reuse the existing factory sleeve.
- Suzuki Hayabusa Gen2 – order with the DME bearing package to guarantee fitment.
- Recommended for bikes over 60″
FEATURES
- CNC-machined billet aluminum
- Provides approximately 2″ of additional ground clearance
- Designed for aggressively lowered drag racing applications
- Changes rear suspension geometry and produces significantly stiffer suspension action than stock (Feels like a 300lb. spring change)
- Requires shorter or adjustable suspension links
- Made in the U.S.A.
1/2″ vs. 2″ – Which Link Do I Need?
Choosing the correct DME Racing rear cushion lever depends primarily on how low the motorcycle is, how much additional ground clearance is needed, and how much change in rear suspension action is acceptable.
| 1/2″ Link | 2″ Straight Link | |
| Ground Clearance Gain | Approx. 1/2″ | Approx. 2″ |
| Geometry Change | Mild | Significant |
| Suspension Action | Closer to stock | Significantly stiffer than stock |
| Best For | Moderately lowered bikes | Aggressively lowered drag bikes |
| Primary Goal | More clearance with less change in suspension action | Maximum ground clearance |
| Required Links | Shorter or adjustable suspension links | Shorter or adjustable suspension links |
Choose the 1/2″ Link If: You need some additional ground clearance but do not need the maximum clearance of the 2-inch Straight Link. It is the less aggressive option and keeps suspension action closer to the factory geometry.
Choose the 2″ Straight Link If: Your Hayabusa is aggressively lowered for drag racing and ground clearance is a major concern. This option provides substantially more clearance, but the larger geometry change also makes the rear suspension significantly stiffer.
